What is Data Outage?
This page points to all known data outage periods for the different MODIS and VIIRS sensors, across the different platforms. These outages can be caused due to multiple reasons, including, spacecraft (S/C) maneuvers, instrument component malfunction/anomalies, onboard software upgrade, missing L0, missing or corrupt S/C attitude/ephemeris and other vital ancillary data etc. Users and Science team members are requested to confirm any data loss that they may be observing, against these known outages for the different spacecraft and sensors.
